Overview

The new Kraken compact wet lens is a lightweight, miniature wide-angle lens for compact camera housings, like the Olmypus TG and Sony RX100 series housings. The KRL-11 produces a wide 90 degree field of view (with a 24mm camera lens, 35mm equivalent)! It has an optical element which makes it superior in image quality to air lenses. Inert gas has been injected into the lens in order to minimize humidity in the air space and prevent fogging.

The mount is made from aluminum, which means the threads will be strong and last for years. Although the lens has glass elements, the dome is acrylic. This is beneficial to anyone who tends to scratch their domes, as you can always buff out deep scratches in acrylic.

We love this lens because it's small... really small! So it's the perfect choice if you shoot a compact camera and you want the smallest wide angle set up available. This lens comes with it's own carrying case that makes it easy to pack during trips. Best of all, this wet lens is very inexpensive. If you're on a budget, this is one of the best options out there for wide angle photography with your compact camera.

Make sure you check the type of thread you have on your housing or port before buying this lens. This lens features a 52mm thread. But if you need a 67mm thread, the KRL-12 is the same lens with a 67mm thread!

If you're looking for a wider field of view and the best wet wide lens on the market, take a look at the Kraken KRL-02 lens.

If you are using this lens with the Olympus housing for an Olympus TG series camera, you will need to use the Kraken fiber optic cable to trigger your strobe.

Superior Angle of View

The Kraken compact wide-lens has a 90 degree angle of view underwater, compared to 81 degrees with air lenses. That extra 9 degrees is a big difference.
