With a diameter of just 4" / 100mm, this Aquatica MINIDOME 100 ultra-compact fisheye dome port is perfect for shooting with fisheye lenses while traveling. When a dome port is submerged, one of its key properties is that its surface curvature turns it into a plano concave lens element, which is then incorporated into the lens underwater optical formula. Because of this phenomena, it is essential to carefully place the dome port on the fisheye lens's optical center if one wants to maximize the lens's optical performance.

The finest BK-7 grade mineral glass stock is meticulously crushed to create the Aquatica MINIDOME 100 port, which provides you with an incredibly accurate lens element to interface with water. Broad Band Anti Reflective (BBAR) and superior Silicon Oxide (SiO2) coatings are applied internally to the dome lens. With a 0.01% reflecting index and more resistance than the majority of other manufacturers' coatings, the SiO2 coating offers superior light transmission compared to its rivals. The fact that SiO2 coating perfectly matches the index of water, which naturally reduces reflections, is another significant aspect of the material. In addition to helping to reduce internal reflections, the SiO2 and BBAR coatings shield the sensitive inside surface from scratches.

The primary feature of the MINIDOME 100, as its name suggests, is its compact size, which makes it incredibly well-suited for the close-focusing fisheye lens. The photographer will find it much easier to place the lighting for the subject at such close ranges due to the smaller frontal footprint, which also allows them to go in closer for the image. By getting the right tools and port extensions, you can utilize the MINIDOME 100 to work with fisheye lenses that have teleconverters to shoot close focus wide angle shots for a completely different perspective.
