The Avalon Dive Park is a true paradise for underwater photographers, offering a wealth of captivating subjects and stunning backdrops. With visibility often reaching up to 100 feet, the park's crystal-clear waters provide the perfect conditions for capturing the vibrant marine life and the mesmerizing kelp forest.
Whether you're a seasoned photographer or a newcomer to the craft, the park's diverse array of subjects, from the charismatic Garibaldi to the elusive giant black sea bass, will keep you endlessly engaged and inspired. And with the park's convenient shore entry and exit, you'll have ample opportunity to explore and experiment with your camera, capturing the magic of the underwater world in all its glory.
Join Bluewater's Nirupam Nigam at the Casino Point dive park in Avalon, Catalina Island - the best and easiest shore dive in Southern California! Nirupam will be hosting an underwater photoworkshop in collaboration with Diving Catalina - limited to 20 people on both Saturday October, 5th and Sunday, October 6th. The workshops will take place at 3pm each day in a classroom setting and Nirupam will be available to dive with everyone in the morning starting at 8am. He is also available to help with camera setup and any camera questions you may have. We will be searching for the sites famous Giant Black Seabass as well as learning how to capture the beautiful Southern California kelp forest critters.
Guests are responsible for their own transportation to the island and food, but we will be offering on-site dive gear rentals through Diving Catalina. The workshop fee is just $29 per day with the option to book one or more days. Guided dives with an instructor are available as well.
