Fantasea Canon G7X Mark II Wet Wide Angle Lens Test
Â
We conducted a wet lens showdown using the Fantasea Canon G7X Mark II and a few popular wet lenses available on the market. We wanted to test the image quality; if there was any vignetting, sharpness of images, zoom capabilities, wider vs narrower views, and more. The lenses that we put to the test were the Fantasea UWL-400F, Kraken Sports KRL-01, Kraken Sports KRL-02, AOI UWL-09F, and Nauticam WWL-1.Â
As for the camera performance, it was fantastic! The controls were all accessible via the housing. The focus speed was almost instantaneous and it performed very well.Â
Wet Lens Results:
With all of the lenses that we used, the Kraken Sports KRL-01 easly stood out as the top contendor as it was the only one to not have significant vignetting issues. The image quality was also great, as you'll see in the below results from the Kraken KRL-01. We think this lens may give similar results on other G7X II housings, when used with the standard port.
