Port System
Designed to support a wide range of lens configurations, the Dry Lock (DL) Port System used on the Ikelite 200DL housing offers a watertight and user-friendly interface. The port’s o-ring is positioned externally, improving visibility during setup and minimizing the risk of water contacting the camera body during port changes. The system is compatible with various ports and extensions for multiple Nikon Z-mount and adapted F-mount lenses, including wide-angle and macro configurations.
Vacuum System
The Ikelite Nikon Z5 Housing already comes with a pre-installed vacuum valve, the housing supports airtight integrity checks before every dive. Using the optional Ikelite vacuum pump with gauge, users can draw air from the housing and confirm a solid seal—eliminating uncertainty and offering reassurance that your Nikon Z5 II is safe from leaks during submersion.
M16 Accessory Port
The housing includes a spare M16 threaded port to accommodate accessories such as HDMI bulkheads or other third-party gear. This makes it easier to integrate external monitors or recorders into your workflow, especially useful for underwater cinematographers or technical divers.
TTL Exposure
The housing supports both shooting in manual or adding a Ikelite DL1 DS Link Nikon TTL Converter NT3 with Hotshoe Kit for a fast and reliable TTL exposure shooting. Note, only compatible with Ikelite DS Strobes and supports rear curtain synchronization and exposure compensation can be added or subtracted in the camera
Control & Setup
Controlling your camera through the housing is very easy. Buttons, levers and dials are readily available at your finger tips, ergonomics is also excellent. Shutter and AF-On levers are super sensitive and can be extended with the Ikelite Trigger Extension.
Installing the camera to the housing is also a breeze with its front loading design. A small plate is attached to the bottom of the camera and is secured in the front of the housing. No need to remove the plate when changing batteries or memory cards.
Nikon Z5 II Mirrorless Camera
The Nikon Z5 II Mirrorless Camera is a full-frame imaging system designed for creators seeking reliable performance in both photography and video. Featuring a 24.5MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor paired with Nikon’s EXPEED 7 processor, the Z5 II delivers sharp detail, low noise, and fast operation across a wide ISO range of 100–64,000 (expandable to 50–204,800), making it highly capable in low-light scenarios.
This updated model includes AI-powered autofocus, inherited from the flagship Z9, capable of detecting and tracking nine distinct subject types—such as people, animals, and vehicles. A dedicated Bird Detection mode enhances accuracy for wildlife photographers. Video capabilities include UHD 4K recording at 60 fps and Full HD up to 120 fps for slow motion. Recording times extend up to two hours, with support for electronic vibration reduction, and output to both internal UHS-II SD cards and external devices via HDMI.
The camera features 5-axis in-body vibration reduction for up to five stops of shake compensation, or 7.5 stops with compatible lenses. A new Picture Control button provides access to 31 built-in color presets, which can be previewed live. Users can also integrate custom “Creator Recipes” via the Nikon Imaging Cloud.
The Z5 II includes a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen and a 3.69M-dot electronic viewfinder for flexible framing. Dual UHS-II card slots improve workflow with backup or overflow storage options. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SnapBridge integration, and USB-C for charging and power delivery.
Compatible with Nikon’s full range of Z-mount lenses, including specialty options like the Nikon fisheye lens, the Z5 II is also adaptable for underwater use with third-party housings—suiting it for a wide range of environments and shooting needs.
