The Inon D200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe key features in detail:
Strobe Light Shade for Dramatically Suppressing Flare and Backscatter
The INON D-200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe comes bundled with a "Strobe Light Shade" that can be used to dramatically suppress flare and backscatter. The shade is made of high-quality optical glass and can be rotated 360 degrees. This allows you to adjust the shade to perfectly block the light from the strobe, preventing it from shining directly on the camera lens or the subject.
The Strobe Light Shade is a simple but effective way to improve the quality of your underwater images. By blocking the light from the strobe, you can reduce flare and backscatter, which can lead to cleaner and more natural-looking images.
The Strobe Light Shade is also easy to use. It is simply attached to the front of the strobe and can be adjusted with a simple twist. The shade also features light clicks, so you can easily feel when it is properly adjusted.
Fly-eye Dome Lens, High Power and 110° Underwater Beam Angle with Less Uneven Light Distribution
The INON D-200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe features a precisely designed fly-eye dome lens that helps to achieve a Guide Number of 20 and an underwater beam angle of 110 degrees. The fly-eye dome lens is made of high-quality optical glass and is designed to diffuse the strobe light evenly, without sacrificing power.
The fly-eye dome lens is a significant improvement over traditional diffusers, which can widen coverage but also sacrifice power and store heat inside. The fly-eye dome lens, on the other hand, diffuses the strobe light thanks to the reflection ratio of air, acrylic, and water, resulting in an underwater beam angle of 110 degrees with almost all of the powerful output coming through.
In addition to the fly-eye dome lens, the D-200 Type 2 also features a unique patented "T-shape Twin Flash" system that helps to further improve the light distribution. The T-shape Twin Flash system fires two flashes simultaneously, one from the front of the strobe and one from the rear. This helps to create a more even light distribution, even at wide angles.
Easy-to-Read Back Panel with High-Intensity Phosphorescence Material
The INON D-200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe features a back panel that is made of high-intensity phosphorescence material. This material glows in the dark, making it easy to read the controls even in low-light conditions. The control dials are also enlarged, making them easy to operate even with thick gloves.
The EV. Control Switch is a unique feature that stops at minimum and maximum power settings. This allows you to easily see the current switch position without having to look at it. This is a helpful feature, especially when you are wearing thick gloves and cannot see the switch clearly.
The combination of the high-intensity phosphorescence material and the enlarged control dials make the INONS D-200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe a very user-friendly strobe. It is easy to read the controls and operate the strobe, even in low-light conditions. This makes it a great choice for photographers who want to capture stunning underwater images, even in challenging conditions.
Accessory Filters
The Inon D-200 uses the same bayonet system as the Z-330 and accepts a variety of filters easily. The strobe comes with the "Dome Filter SOFT" which protects the dome lens surface and further softens the strobe light. There are three additional filters available which include:
- Inon Strobe Dome FIlter ND - Neutral Density diffuser which steps the power down by -4EV
- Inon Strobe Dome Filter 4600K - lowers the color temperature to 4600K for warmer red tones
- Inon Strobe Dome Filter 4900K - lowers the color temperature to 4900K for warmer red tones
Fast Recycle Time for Even More Shots
The INON D-200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe has a minimum recycle time of approximately 1.3 seconds. This means that you can take another shot as soon as the strobe has fired, even if you are using the full power setting. This is a great feature for photographers who want to capture fast-moving subjects or who want to take multiple shots in a row.
The fast recycle time is achieved thanks to the efficient design of the D-200 Type 2. The strobe uses a high-performance capacitor that can store a lot of energy, and it also has a powerful cooling system that helps to dissipate the heat generated by the strobe.
Advanced Cancel Circuit for Faster Recycle Time and More Images Per Battery Set
The INON D-200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe features an Advanced Cancel Circuit that helps to improve the recycle time and the number of images that can be taken per battery set. The Advanced Cancel Circuit works by automatically detecting the number of pre-flashes that are used by the camera. This allows the strobe to adjust its settings accordingly, which can lead to faster recycle times and more images per battery set.
The Advanced Cancel Circuit is especially beneficial when using the D-200 Type 2 with a camera that uses a pre-flash system. Pre-flash systems emit a brief flash before the main flash, which is used to measure the ambient light. This can lead to slower recycle times and fewer images per battery set, as the strobe has to wait for the pre-flash to complete before it can fire.
220 Lumen High-Power LED for Convenient Focus
The INON D-200 Type 2 Underwater Strobe features a built-in "Shutter-linked Auto-Off Focus Light" that delivers 220 lumens of brightness. This light can be used to help focus on a subject, as it illuminates the subject over a wide area. The focus light is automatically turned off when the shutter is released, and it automatically turns back on when the shutter is re-engaged.
The focus light is also equipped with a fresnel lens, which helps to align the light with the optical axis of the strobe. This ensures that the light is focused on the subject, and it minimizes the loss of light intensity.
The built-in focus light is a convenient and effective way to help focus on a subject underwater. It is especially useful when shooting in low-light conditions or when the subject is difficult to see.
