Isotta Vacuum System
The Isotta Vacuum System is an underwater housing vacuum system is a device or set of devices used to verify the watertight integrity of an underwater camera housing before diving. It helps prevent camera housing floods by creating negative pressure (vacuum) inside the housing and monitoring the vacuum pressure to ensure there are no leaks or air bubbles present. The vacuum system typically consists of several components:
- Custom Bulkhead: A custom bulkhead specific to the camera housing brand is installed on the housing. It serves as the entry point for the vacuum system and allows the connection of other components.
- Waterproof One-Way Valve: A rugged stainless steel one-way valve is installed on the bulkhead. It allows air to be pumped out of the housing but prevents water from entering.
- Inline Vacuum Gauge: An anodized aluminum vacuum gauge is attached to the one-way valve. It provides a visual indication of the vacuum pressure inside the housing, ensuring it remains at the correct level.
- Hand Pump: A hand-operated pump, similar to a "wine saver" type pump, is used to pull the vacuum. It removes air from the housing, creating the negative pressure required for the system to function.
Key Features:
