Kraken 5000S+ Product Overview:
This Kraken video light is one of the best in it's class. Offering a powerful lumen output that doesn't sacrifice color temperature, we've been very happy using this lately. The beam angle is harsh which is nice because you can see exactly where your lighting will fall off making framing shots easier. The color temperature is on the warmer side which is fantastic given many video lights sacrifice color temperature for a brighter beam. The various shooting modes are also fun to play with. The red light is very helpful when trying to get shots of even the most shy animals.
The Kraken Video Lights offer high performance at a lower cost, making them an ideal option for all levels of videographer. It features a flood, spot, red and UV beams, making it a truly a universal light. An optional remote control allows for easy adjustments directly from the handle of your tray.
The light head of the Kraken Hydra 5000S+ is water resistant, which protects the expensive light elements in case of a flood. While you'll likely have to replace the battery, but the light head will still be functional.
What's New:
The Kraken Hydra 5000S+ offers the same great features as the original 5000 and 5000+ versions, including improved LED's that offer a much higher Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 90, compared to the original at 82, which can make colors really pop and improve skin tones of divers. The 5000S+ also includes a "Strobe" mode, which allows the connection of a fiber optic cable for a synced powerful burst of more than 7000 lumens, when you take a photo.
How to use the burst feature and the remote control
- Connect your camera's internal flash to the Kraken light via a Sea & Sea style fiber optic cable to trigger the "Burst mode" for still photos
- Connect the optional Kraken remote control to the Kraken light via a Sea & Sea fiber optic cable to control the light remotely. Each remote can control up to 2 lights.
