The Nauticam OM System  Tough TG-7 underwater housing for the OM System TG-7, the most recent model in OM System's "Tough" series of small cameras has been revealed by Nauticam. Two housing types are being produced by Nauticam: this one with an integrated bayonet attachment and another with a 52mm threaded mount. Both the OM System TG-7 and its predecessor, the Olympus TG-6, are compatible with the housings.

The Nauticam WWL-C can be used for wide-angle photography and video with the bayonet mount, while the CMC-1 and CMC-2, with their 67mm threads, can be utilized for macro photography with Nauticam's Bayonet Mount Adaptor. Fiber-optically, strobes can be activated by utilizing the TG-7's internal flash through the Sea & Sea-style bulkheads on the housing.

For use with the Nauticam Flexitray II system, the housing ships with stainless steel strengthening brackets and a shutter release extender. By putting rails above and below the rear LCD display, Nauticam's LCD Magnifier with Dioptric Adjustment can also be used.

Integrated Bayonet Mount for Wet Lenses

The NA-TG7 has an integrated bayonet mount that is compatible with the new WWL-C Wet Wide Lens for compact camera systems in addition to all prior Bayonet Mount accessories. The WWL-C is made to give 24mm equivalent lenses, such the ones on the TG-5, TG-6 and TG-7 cameras, true underwater-specific ultra-wide-angle capability. A low-profile wet-mate corrective lens with a 130º field of view and complete zoom-through functionality is the WWL-C. When a macro opportunity presents itself, the lens may be removed with ease underwater and safely stored using a Nauticam Bayonet Mount storage system.

Accessory Mounting Options

The housing of the Nauticam NA-TG7 has an M10 threaded mounting point in addition to a cold-shoe mounting point. These can be configured to accommodate an assortment of lighting add-ons. The housing comes with a set of stainless steel stiffening brackets and a shutter release extension for use with the Nauticam Flexitray II system in case even more flexibility is required. An even more sturdy shooting platform with up to four accessory mounting sites is created with the addition of the tray, an adjustable right handle, and optional strobe mounting balls.

NOTE: The baseplate needs to be rotated 180 degrees and the handles need to be adjusted appropriately when using the Flexitray II.

Flash Triggering

Nauticam Universal Fiber Optic Cables, which fit straight into the Sea & Sea style bulkheads on the front of the housing, enable the NA-TG7 to communicate the camera's internal flash to compatible external strobes. The in-built flash can potentially be used as the main light source by attaching the diffuser that comes with the device.

LCD Magnifier

The LCD Magnifier with Dioptric Adjustment can be installed on the NA-TG7 by using Rails (25123) above and below the rear LCD display glass. The magnifier can be used to determine critical focus in addition to serving as a shade in bright shooting situations. Even when using a prescription mask, the magnifier has a dioptric adjustment to change the focus for your vision.
