The Nauticam NA-502B Monitor Options:

  • NA-502B-H: HDMI 1.4 Input Connection
  • NA-502B-S: HD-SDI Input Connection

When shooting video underwater the use of a larger external monitor can make a huge difference. Composing your shot with a clear, bright view of the subject, and having better information on exposure, color and lighting levels can be the difference between good footage and incredible footage.

Everything Included, Simple Drop In Design

With simple set up - the Monitor drops into the housing and all cables & bulkheads needed for connecting the monitor are included - this is an easy and perfect addition to your underwater video rig. The SmallHD 502 monitor is the best and brightest on the market, making it easy to view even when shooting on or near the surface on a bright day.

Nauticam has been known to provide top notch and high quality aluminum underwater housings. They also have a reputation to design underwater housings with great ergonomics. Their housings are built from aircraft grade aluminum which makes it durable, robust and built to last.

Rugged, Easy Joystick Navigation

The Nauticam NA-502B housing features the rugged build quality and advanced manufacturing expertise Nauticam users expect.  The joystick navigation system used by the 502 Bright monitor is translated to four directional arrows, a center select button, and the dedicated “back” button.  The interface is simple, but elegant, and perfectly suited for the underwater environment.

The form factor of 502 Bright monitor is perfectly suited for an underwater housing, with HDMI / HD-SDI cables nestled between two readily available Canon LP-E6 Batteries that power the monitor.

HDMI and HD-SDI are both supported by a single housing, providing an extremely broad range of camera support in a single underwater monitor system.

The SmallHD 502B Monitor can also be used as a passthrough monitor using the passing SDI or HDMI to the surface monitor*. The housing features an extra M16 bulkhead that can accomodate an additional cable. For the HDMI version, if also features a cross-conversion feature meaning an HDMI input from the camera can be converted to an HD-SDI signal by the monitor and can be passed through to another monitor.

* For HDMI version, the Nauticam M16 SDI Bulkhead is needed to run an SDI Surface Monitor Cable to the surface

NOTE: Unlike previous 502 models the 502 Bright is only available in one configuration that includes both HD-SDI and HDMI, so use the menu above to choose the housing model that is appropriate for your camera, i.e. 17920 for HDMI and 17921 for HD-SDI.

Key Features:

Rotary Locking Latch:

An oversized rotary latch securely seals the housing and prevents accidental opening of the housing. Simply drop the monitor into the housing and it's ready to use.

Monitor Shade:

The housing includes a removable monitor shade which provides better visibility in bright conditions. It can easily be installed using 4 small screws.

Mission Control:

The housing provides access to all monitor controls which includes the joystick and a dedicated back button.

Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System:

The housing includes a M16 Vacuum valve and leak detection system. This provides you the peace of mind that your monitor is securely sealed.  A temperature compensated monitoring circuit with LED indicator provides constant feedback about vacuum status.  The green led means the system is safe to dive!

Drop In Design:

The 502 Bright monitor easily drops into the housing and is secured with 2 rotating latches. Cable routing is simple as is direct access to the batteries without having to remove the monitor from the housing. ALL CABLES NEEDED TO CONNECT THE MONITOR TO YOUR HOUSING ARE NOW INCLUDED!
