45.7MP FX-Format BSI CMOS Sensor
To enhance continuous shooting, movies, and time-lapse recording, a 45.7MP BSI CMOS sensor is employed, which offers remarkable low-light quality, quick readout times, and high resolution shooting capabilities. The sensor's back-illuminated architecture provides bright and smooth quality at sensitivity as low as ISO 64, and significantly clear high-sensitivity output with decreased noise when operating at high ISO values, up to a native ISO 25600. To get the maximum clarity and resolution out of the sensor, the traditional optical low-pass filter is also left out of the design. Dual EXPEED 6 image processors complement the sensor, providing an abundance of speed across the entire camera system, including the capacity to shoot at 10 frames per second for as long as 50 consecutive frames.
Enhanced 4K Video Performance
The Z7 II is a multimedia camera that can handle more than simply still images, making excellent use of its sensor and CPU capabilities. Full HD 1080p video recording is also supported at up to 120p for slow motion playback, while UHD 4K video recording is possible up to 60p. Video files can be stored as uncompressed files on an optional external recorder via HDMI out or saved to the memory cards built into the camera.
With the Z7 II, advanced video features have been included, including as HLG (high dynamic range) for recording footage ready for HDR and N-Log gamma for flat-looking footage that maximizes dynamic range.
