The Sony 35mm F1.4 FE GM lens is a very compact wide-angle prime lens, but don't be fooled by its size. It produces tack-sharp results, something you'd expect from a lens that's part of the elite G Master series. Even in low light conditions, the lens performs excellently when shot wide open at F1.4. Every photographer should have a 35mm focal length lens in their kit bag. Not only is it an extremely versatile lens for shooting stills, but it's brilliant for video too. As with most Sony lenses, autofocus is lightning-fast, and you're able to lock onto your subject and track it with pinpoint accuracy; this is possible thanks to duel XD linear motors and Sony's industry-leading autofocus software. The AF eye tracking with this lens doesn't skip a beat, and the smooth manual focus ring makes using the MF function a dream.
Two XA elements help the Sony 35mm F1.4 GM achieve 0.01 microns of focus precision, meaning subjects will be razor-sharp every time. And, although this is a 35mm lens, you're able to isolate your subjects from the background with great bokeh thanks to 11 rounded aperture blades and its exceptional focusing abilities. Its advanced optical design also helps to reduce chromatic aberration, ghosting and color fringing.
