Sony RX100 Series Wet Wide Angle Lens Test
We recently did some testing on some of our popular wide-angle lenses, in conjunction with the RX100 series. We believe that these results are valid for the RX100 III, IV, V, & VI in a short port, in the Nauticam, Ikelite, Recsea, Aquapazza and Fantasea housings. We used the Nauticam RX100 IV / V housings for our testing. We were checking to see all around image quality; if there was any vignetting, sharpness of images, zoom capabilities, wider vs narrower views, and more. Below is the results of the test that we conducted.
The camera performed very well during the pool test and just using ambient light. The Nauticam Housing worked great! All important camera controls were accessible through the housing, the shutter was precise and the camera focused quickly even in low light.

Nauticam WWL-1:
For more detailed results on Nauticam WWL-1 Wet Wide Angle Lens, see our previous tests here. As you will see, the WWL-1 gave excellent results.
Key Points:
- The AOI UWL-09F and WWL-1 were the sharpest when zoomed all the way in.
- The AOI UWL-09F and WWL-1 are wider than the Kraken Sports KRL-02.
- The Kraken Sports KRL-02 is slightly wider than the Fantasea UWL-400F.
Summary:
Depending on if you want a slightly narrower, or wider field of view, the choice of which lens is right for you will change. The UWL-400 you'll see has the most narrow field of view, then widening up for the KRL-02, and then finally reaching the UWL-09 which offers the most wide out of all options. Prices for each lens seem to coordinate with that as well, showing the KRL-02 and UWL-400F as the most affordable option, while eventually moving up to the UWL-09 & WWL-1 as the higher-end models.
