About the Sony RX-100 Mark III:
The Sony RX100 III (M3) camera is the latest installment in the line of very popular cameras from Sony. Featuring a huge 1" sensor, one of the largest in any compact camera. These cameras offer manual functions, fast focusing and excellent image quality. The RX100 and RX100 II have dominated the compact camera market for underwater photography for the last couple of years and the version III is bound to be popular as well.
Sony did make one change on the RX100 III that will limit how good it is underwater. They changed the lens to a 24-70mm. The lens is brighter at F1.8, but the change in focal distance will effect the use of wet lenses. This means, that it is wider at 24mm which will cause vignetting with many wide angle wet lens options, and the focal distance is also not as long for zooming, which could limit the macro capability. In addition they added an electronic viewfinder and improved the video bit rate.
