DISCONTINUED
The Nauticam NA-1DXIII machined aluminum housing for the Canon EOS-1DX Mark III camera is a top of the line professional underwater housing. It featured an elegant, ergonomic design for full control of every 1DX Mark III camera function when places inside of the housing. Each lever, button, and dial is engineered to be within a finger's reach of the solid, durable arm grips. This housing is depth rated to 100 meters (330 ft). All buttons are labeled clearly on the housing so you won't be wondering what a control is underwater. The housing also includes two fiber optic ports, a leak detection sensor, and a vacuum valve - all to protect your camera against a leak or flood. The latch to open and close the housing features an easy-to-use rotation mechanism that keeps the housing tight and secure at depth. The NA-1DXIII housing features an N120 port opening.
Key Features:
An Easy-to-Use Port Locking System
With Nauticam's patented port locking system, you don't have to worry about fighting to put a port on or take it off. In fact, there's no twisting or threading required - like you might find on bayonet ports from other brands. All you have to do is push the port in and lock it in place with the lever. It only takes a couple seconds! In addition to this port lock system, Nauticam offers a variety of locking port extensions to ensure the port will always remain firmly in place and never twist.
Housing Locking Latches - Security Throughout the Dive
To close your Nauticam 1DX Mark III housing, all you need to do is align the back of the housing to the front and pull the housing latches. They will lock in place and remain secure throughout the dive. They are locked to prevent an accidental opening. That's it! You're ready to go. To open, you press the lock release buttons and turn the latches. It's a great system for eacy battery or memory card replacements.
Elegant Ergonomics
Nauticam housings are designed with precise and elegant ergonomics. Each control is places so that you don't have to move your hands from the handles when operation the housing. Adjacent to the handles, key camera controls including the D-Pad, AF-ON, REC, shutter, M. Fn., ISO, FN, Pv, PLAY, and INFO buttons are all easy to reach and easy to use.
HDMI 1.4 & 2.0 Connectivity
Both HDMI 1.4 and 2.0 cables can be used with the Nauticam 1DX Mark III housing and an external monitor or recorder. The housing has an M28 to M16 step-down adapter pre-installed.
TTL Flash Trigger (optional - not included)
For extremely fast and accurate strobe triggering, a Nauticam 1DX Mark III owner can choose the optional TTL flash trigger that fits snuggly into the housing. The flash trigger emits a light signal that is captured via fiber optic port and cable for use with DS-TTL mode in a Sea & Sea strobe or S-TTL mode in an Inon strobe. You can also trigger strobes manually, use a rear curtain sync, and a slave strobe all with the flash trigger.
If you want the TTL flash trigger, please make sure you select it before you add the housing to your cart.
More Features:
Video Recording and Monitor Compatibility - An external video recorder and monitor is essential for capturing video from the Canon 1DX Mark III at high bit rates, high frame rates, and data-heavy file formats. The M28 bulkhead on the NA-1DXIII housing can support Nauticam's HDMI 2.0 camble system with one of our favorite external monitors, the Atomos Ninja V. The housing also supports the HDMI 1.4 standard which is good for non-recording monitor solutions such as the SmallHD 502 Bright and comes with the pre-installed M28 to M16.
Integrated Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System - As with every Nauticam DSLR housing, the Canon 1DX Mark III housing comes with the vacuum check and leak detection system pre-installed. Combined with an optional accessory vacuum valve (M16 or M14), you'll get real time feedback underwater about the integrity of your vacuum seal. A series of LED colored lights indicates whether the vacuum is being maintained or if the housing is losing a the seal. If water were to enter the housing, the leak detection system will detect it and send an audible and visual signal to the user that is easy to hear underwater.
45 and 180 Degree Viewfinders - If your eyes aren't what they used to be, then the standard viewfinder that comes with the 1DX Mark III might not be sufficient for your needs. It's great for traveling, but when your eyes are behind a mask, it can really help to have that extra magnification. The majority of shooters that like to shoot from behind a viewfinder will eventually choose to shoot with a magnified viewfinder. The straight view finder made by Nauticam is the 180 degree viewfinder which is a great option for wide angle and pelagic shooters. Nauticam also makes an angled, 45 degree viewfinder which is usually better for macro. The 45 degree viewfinder can take more getting used to than the 180 degree viewfinder, but it's also much easier to get into tighter spaces with it as you don't have to be on the same level as the camera.
