Nauticam Nikon Z7V Underwater HousingÂ
DISCONTINUED
Â
The Nauticam NA-Z7V housing for the Nikon Z7 camera and Z6 camera offers full control of the camera, and full support with both native Z lenses and F lenses with the FTZ adapter. Nauticam has been well known to focus on ergonomics, and the housing lives up to company's reputation. It's easy to operate and comfortable to use. The housing is also crafted from high quality aluminum and uses the same DSLR sized N120 ports so there will be no need for port adapters. This also makes it an easy transition for any Nauticam DSLR shooters interested in making the switch to a smaller mirrorless setup, or simply adding one to their camera arsenal!
Nauticam Nikon Z7V Housings Key Features:
Patented Port Locking Lever
Nauticam's signature locking lever is designed so that there would be no twisting or threading action to mount a port. It locks the port securely in place with the housing. They also offer port extensions.
Â
HDMI 2.0 Support
The housing features the larger-bore M28 bulkhead that allows for the use of Nauticam HDMI 2.0 cables for connection to recorders and monitors such as the Atomos Ninja V.
Â
FTZ Adapter Support
The Nauticam Nikon Z7 supports the FTZ adapter and would use the N120 Port System. The Nikon F Mount lenses can be used with the same ports and extensions as on a Nauticam Nikon DSLR Housing. As Z mount lenses become available, supported lenses will be integrated into the port system.
Â
Mission Control
All camera's essential controls are within easy reach of the rubberized ergonomic handles. Regardless of where the control is located on the camera, the Nauticam housing puts them where you need them to be underwater. When switching from photo to video, an easily reachable switch is available on the rear right of the housing. The right double thumb lever is used to access AF-on and record while the left double thumb lever is for DISP and playback controls. The  Zoom In and Zoom Out controls has been relocated to the left sideÂ
Stainless Steel Handle Brackets
This Stiffening handle brackets are included with the housing and this ensures a stable platform for strobes and video lights. It also serves as a multiple attachment points for lanyards or other accessories.
Â
Flash Triggering
The housing comes with Nauticam's self powered manual flash trigger pre-installed. The flash trigger plugs into the hot-shoe of the camera and uses LED lights recessed into each of the two optical bulkheads to trigger supported underwater flashes when used with the correct fiber optic connection. Â
Premium Optics
The housing supports various lenses from wide angle to macro. F mount lenses, paired with the FTZ adapter can be used with the same extensions and ports as on Nauticam N120 Nikon DSLR housings.
Â
Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System
Nauticam's vacuum check and leak detection system electronics is included and is preinstalled. An optional M16 Vacuum Valve II can be purchased and the system gives a visual indicator of watertightness with the integrated multicolor LED.
Â
Nikon Z and F Mount Support:
The Nauticam Nikon Z7V underwater housing allows not only the use of the new Z mount Nikon glass but also the legendary Nikon F mount lenses with the Nikon FTZ Adapter. The N120 port system allows all compatible Nikon F-mount lenses to be used, providing underwater photographers with a world class lineup of fisheye, ultra wide, mid-range, and macro lenses that can be used with the housing. Existing Nauticam DSLR housing owners will be glad to know that all of their ports, viewfinders, and Nikon lens gears transition seamlessly to the housing, and support will be added for the exciting new Z-mount lenses as they are released.
The Nauticam Nikon Z7V housing features two lens release buttons that correspond to either F or Z mount lenses, allowing lens swaps without having to remove the camera from the housing. This is unlike some other housing manufacturers where it can be more difficult to remove and F mount lens. A vacuum system reset switch is located below the tray as well so there is no need to open the rear of the housing during lens or port changes.
Intelligent Control Placement:
Nauticam engineers are obsessed with functionality and this is evident in the location of essential controls. Regardless of where the control is located on the camera, the Nauticam housing puts them where you need them to be underwater. For those switching between photo and video modes, an easily reachable switch is located on the right rear of the housing. The right side double thumb lever, easily reached from the right handle features access to the AF-on and Record buttons respectively. Between the double thumb lever and the multi-stage shutter release is an ISO lever allowing quick changes to sensitivity.
The left double thumb lever accesses the DISP and Playback controls. The Zoom In and Zoom Out controls, located on the right rear of the camera body is relocated to the left side of the housing to a location more familiar to Nauticam housing users.
The switch that allows for switching between the LCD display and the EVF, a crucial and much used control with mirrorless systems is located close to the left handle within easy reach. Â
Front and rear control dials are readily accessible by the familiar large knurled dials at the right handle. The ergonomic housing handles are rubberized and feature stainless steel stiffening brackets to ensure a stable platform when using large strobes or video lights attached to the pre-installed 1" mounting balls.
Flash Triggering:
The housing comes with Nauticam's self powered manual flash trigger preinstalled. The flash trigger plugs into the hot-shoe of the camera and uses LED lights recessed into each of the two optical bulkheads to trigger supported underwater flashes when used with the correct fiber optic connection. The flash trigger is powered by coin cell batteries that provide thousands of flashes per battery. The flash trigger can be upgraded to support TTL triggering (PN 2638 TTL Converter for Nikon).
